As a valued agent of The Select Company, we wanted to inform you of some changes to The Select Dental Plan.

The United Association of Small Business and Select Dental Plan were given a modest rate increase for the fiscal year July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007. Reliance Standard Life (“A” rated by A.M. Best) has informed our group that there were significant claims with our clients that were transferred from our previous insurance company. The original block of business did not have a waiting period for major dental procedures. As a result, the loss ratio for the entire group was well in excess of a 100% Loss Ratio. Since July 1, 2005 The Select Dental Plan has had a 6-month waiting period for major procedures and the trend is moving in a favorable direction. Due to our excellent relationship with Reliance Standard Life, they have minimized our annual group rate increase.

Reliance Standard Life has guaranteed these rates for the next 12 months, effective July 1, 2006.

NOTE: The Value Dental Plan will not be affected by a group rate increase at this time. The Value Dental Plan has a 12-month waiting period for major procedures.

Please review the enclosed letter that was sent to all Select Dental Plan members for important changes.

All Select Company products will have a $20 non-refundable enrollment fee for effective dates of July 1, 2006 and thereafter.

This modest rate increase, the short waiting periods, and one of the best online Internet systems in the country will solidify The Select Dental Plan’s strong position in the marketplace for years to come.
