Security Life Underwriting updates
After reviewing recent new business trends
while also considering the potential ramifications of
the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, USL&H
has decided to implement a few changes to our current
Major Medical underwriting practices.
- For Major Medical applicants over the age of 59,
USL&H now requires a physical exam within the
past two years. In fact, for faster Underwriting turnaround
time, please include a copy of the applicant's most
recent exam with the application.
- Beginning June 1st, USL&H will no longer be
accepting child-only applications on our Short Term
and Major Medical plans. The primary insured must
be at least 19 years old to apply for coverage.
- Beginning June 1st, USL&H will no longer rider
any conditions on dependents under the age of 19.
All dependents under the age of 19 will either be
issued standard, rated-up, or declined.
We believe these changes will allow USL&H to remain
a viable and competitive option for your clients in
need of a quality health insurance plan.
Our Underwriting Guidelines have been updated and are
ready for download at our website, www.unitedsecuritylandh.com.
